Temporary Addictions

Current Mood:okay emoticon okay

I go through phases where I get stuck on certain things and I won’t stop with it until I am completely burnt out. Ya’ll put my mind at ease and tell me I’m not alone on this, mkay?

I’m real bad about music. I’ll get stuck on a band or song or album and I will listen to it until I just can’t stand it anymore. A few months ago a friend of mine turned me on to Kings of Leon and I’ve been listening to them almost non-stop since then. I’ve downloaded practically every song I could find and seriously, my iTunes stays on a constant shuffle. If you follow me on Last.fm, you know I’m not kidding. I also have a KOL CD in my car that pretty much plays on repeat. I mean really, I absolutely wear it out.

I tend to do the same thing with movies. Right now, I can’t stop watching “The Ugly Truth“. Angie and I saw it in the theater when it first came out and I fell in love with it. I bought it the day it came out on DVD and have watched it over and over and over. I’m not tired of it yet. But in my defense, its not difficult looking at Gerard Butler repeatedly though. Rawr!

I do the same thing with food too. I’ll go through phases where I want the same foods again and again. I’ve been stuck on Goldfish crackers for quite some time. And right now, I’m also on a jalapeno kick. Random, I know. I crave them constantly and want them with every meal. I find myself thinking about what I might could have for lunch or whatever that I can put them on. One of the girls at work was going to Taco Bell the other day and I asked her to pick up a side order of jalapenos so that I could have them on my hot pocket. I’ve gone through similar phases recently with garlic and red onions. I have issues, I swear.

So do any of you do that? Do you get stuck on certain things and stay stuck until you finally can’t stand it anymore? … Please say you do.
