I had the DVR all set. I was hoping to see Britney redeem herself tonight. And from what I heard, she did win a couple of awards. I’m not sure if she performed or not. I wouldn’t know. I changed the channel just a few minutes into the show. If you watched it {or attempted to watch it}, I’m sure you know why. The host this year was absolutely disgusting. Not only does he look like he hasn’t bathed in several weeks, but the trash coming out of his mouth was even worse. Within the first five minutes of being on air, he made fun of our President and Americans for electing him, mocked Sarah Palin and called her baby a “political stunt”, and made a political stance calling for people to elect Barack Obama. As if he even had the right to do so; he isn’t even a US citizen! He went on to later mock the Jonas Brothers and the purity rings that they wear symbolizing abstinence. You can watch the “Genius” of Russell Brand {as MTV is calling it} here: Russell Brand at VMAs
The liberal political stuff should be expected. MTV/CBS/Viacom is a huge Obama supporter, both in the media and financially. What I really think is so appalling is that MTV invited the Jonas Brothers to appear on the show, advertised it, attracted millions of young viewers, and then had this idiot making fun of them and their stance for purity. What kind of message is that sending out to children?! I have to commend Jordin Sparks for standing up tonight and defending the purity rings.
“I just have one thing to say about promise rings. It’s not bad to wear a promise ring, because not everybody – guy or girl – wants to be a slut.” –Jordin Sparks
I rarely watch MTV anymore, mainly because they rarely play music. It’s nothing but bad reality shows all day. I say with absolute certainty that I’ll not dare watch anything on MTV ever again now. I, along with thousands of others, have voiced my opinion on tonight’s VMAs and their host to MTV via their website. If you were also offended, I encourage you to let them know as well.

You are right on with your remarks. This Music Awards show turning into a political stage for young people to find out which side MTV is on and making fun of the Palin daughter shows the lack of talent available to MTV and the lack of responsibility of the Producer of MTV VMA’s and I believe Russell Brand should be banned from USA TV. There isn’t one good thing to say about what he offered to the viewers of the VMA’s. Thank you. Love, Joy

That reminds me…Wu-Tang is for the kids (not)! While I think the Jonas brothers are just Hanson 10 years later and hate there music I applaud them for there stand. I do believe that all the marketing that goes with these so called boy bands is designed to make girls lust over a particular type of boy. They should start playing hard and calling out the whores. Thats what Ol’ Dirty Bastard would have done.
